An Exciting Day at Founders Live Cairo!
Our Cairo city leader, Mostafa Shahat, recaps their April event (cross-posted from The Feed)
Today, downtown Cairo was buzzing with excitement as over 150 entrepreneurs gathered for an amazing Founders Live Cairo event. The event was supported by MINT — EG Bank and Bolsters Advisory, bringing together a vibrant community eager to connect and share their innovative ideas.
The day started off with a lively speech from Mostafa Shahat, our City Leader. His energy set the stage for an inspiring day.
This was followed by talks from Nick, the Founder & CEO of Founders Live, and Luis, Head of Brand at Founders Live. They shared their visions and the impact of Founders Live globally and locally.
Mariam from MINT — EG Bank talked about how they’re helping entrepreneurs grow. It’s great to see such support from a major bank.
Khalid Khalil from Bolsters Advisory shared how they are helping shape the business landscape by connecting local entrepreneurs with top investors from Silicon Valley. This kind of support is crucial for growing businesses.
We also heard from Maria and Shimaa, two incredible speakers who shared their experiences in starting and running a business. Their stories were truly inspiring.
One of the highlights of the day was the entrepreneur showcase. Five ambitious entrepreneurs presented their projects: Taskedin, Nomu, Vondera, CAMPUS 51, and Wfrley. It was a tough competition, but Shahd Nasralla from Taskedin won with her innovative approach.
We had special guests too! Jay Martin, President of Birdman Capital, and his wife Lisa Martin, Information Director at Birdman Capital, flew in from Texas, USA. They were here to share their expertise and connect with the Egyptian entrepreneurial community.
The open mic session was a blast! Anyone could come up and talk about their business idea, look for partners, or share a personal story. It was great to see so many people eager to speak up and share their thoughts.
Students from ESLSCA University also joined us to pitch their ideas. A big thanks to Sarah Said for supporting these talented young entrepreneurs.
After the open mic, we moved into networking. Everyone split into small groups to talk about business ideas, opportunities, and challenges. It was a great way to meet new people and learn from each other.
I can’t forget to mention Muhammed Shaheen, an amazing Indian friend living in Cairo who created some of the great designs you see on our Instagram and LinkedIn pages.
As we wrap up, I want to extend a special thank you to our volunteers, led by the amazing Maria, who made sure everything went smoothly. Their hard work really made the event special.
